A very unusual and useful product which is manufactured by Bosch Motorsport is the fully programmable Wiper Direct Drive (WDD2).
Replacing the highly successful WDA product, the WDD2 brings with it more flexibility than it’s predecessor with user programmability.
It is perfect for prototype race cars where an existing windscreen wiper solution doesn’t exist,or to up-grade an existing system with the benefits of custom sweeps, speeds and lower mass.
The WDD2 is a fully programmable wiper motor designed to execute reversing movements instead of rotating 360° like a conventional wiper.
Its function and many operating modes are managed by integrated control electronics.Th euser is able to control the desired operating mode simply by modifying CAN or LIN messages. The gear, the motor and the electronics are all installed in the same housing.
The main benefit of this wiper motor is its direct rotation movement which replaces external gears and linkages.The flexibility of programming the operating speed and end positions of all its function modes is also a particular highlight.
2 x Shaft Lengths are available to suit your installation:35mm and 55.5mm.

A standalone throttle body with integrated drive by wire motor and twin output position sensor makes this a popular solution for cars running a plenum type intake. Can be controlled by most ECUs with a Drive by Wire/Electronic Throttle Body output.
