About Us

Saxon Motorsport began developing its Formula Ford car at the beginning of 2009.

The Mygale 2000 chassis was chosen for its excellent build quality, strength and its proven performance. The 2009 Duratec Mygale which is currently first, second and fourth in the British championship is very little changed from our cars.

The Castle Combe Club Championship was chosen for its competitiveness and good grids, typically a full grid of 34 cars.

Saxon Motorsport decided to develop its own engine rather than going down the normal route of buying engines from one of the accepted suppliers. The reason being we are well aware that all engine builders produce engines that can be either very good, if they are lucky, sometimes simply good but other times are just plain poor; and we only wanted the best. So we have installed a ‘state of the art’ Rolling Road which has enabled us to measure exactly what the opposition are producing and better it!

Our continued development throughout the first year has seen us steadily improve until the final two races of the year when, with a novice driver, we achieved second and third places! The following weekend at Thruxton we won! This leaves us ideally placed to start the 2010 season right on the pace!
